Our Story

Ten plus years ago, living on a 5-acre rural property in Southern California, under constant attack of flies, mosquitoes and other flying insects (flies), it was decided that a new product (solution) must be created that would repel flies and also possess a pleasing fragrance. Additionally, to further complicate matters, this solution must be water-based and use all natural oils.

After approximately 6 years of experimenting with the mixing of natural oils in a water based solution, we finally came up with a product to our liking.  This product not only repelled flies but also possessed a pleasing scent. In order to substantiate our findings, we established beta-testing at approximately 20 separate sites over defined periods. The results were an overwhelming success.  Each site responded in a very positive manner to fly deterrence and the pleasing fragrance. 

We used a hand-held pump sprayer to disperse the Private Fragrance during the beta-testing.  A hand-held pump sprayer is a valid means of spraying but we wanted a dispersionary unit that was a great deal more convenient for the individual or individuals wanting to enjoy the outdoors. Within the last year, we created a convenient dispersionary unit, known as the Green Solar Bucket (GSB).

Unlike other fly deterrents or fly killing dispersionary units (e.g. aerosol cans) out in the marketplace, the GSB uses a patented, more convenient means of spraying our Private Fragrance. In the application for the patent, under the Title of “Summary of the Invention” it states as follows: “The present invention is a green solar bucket with private fragrance. The green solar bucket with private fragrance comprises a solar-powered mechanism which continuously disperses a solution into the surroundings. 

The green solar bucket with private fragrance comprises a structure adapted to be utilized for outdoor activities.  

The Green Solar Bucket with private fragrance comprises a structure which allows air flow to pass through and naturally disperse the solution into the surroundings. The green solar bucket with private fragrance further comprises a removable dispenser which continuously provides the solution at a constant rate”.

Additionally, to ensure that our Private Fragrance is continuous; (1) we have added a water-soluble powder pack on the bottom of the GSB that slowly releases more of the private fragrance into the surroundings. The powder is a blend of water, natural oils and herbs; and (2) the ability to order our refill kits on our website which will provide continuous fly deterrence and fragrance.
